WICHITA, Kan. -
The annual Wichita State baseball Fall World Series will begin on Fri., Oct. 1,
at Eck Stadium. The series will
last until Thurs., Oct. 14.
The Shocker roster will be divided into two teams, the Black
and the Gold. One will be coached
by 19th-year assistant coach Jim Thomas and the other by first-year
volunteer assistant Jeff Christy.
The rosters will be announced at a later date.
The Black squad won the 2009 Fall World Series in seven
games.
Johnny Coy led the Black squad with a .483 average with four
runs, three doubles, a triple and seven RBI, while Cobey Guy pitched 11 innings
with a 1.64 ERA.
Ryan Hege led the Gold squad with a .444 average with five
runs, three doubles, a home run and five RBI, while Charlie Lowell pitched 10
innings with a 1.80 ERA.
Admission to each game of the Fall World Series is a can of
food for the Kansas Food Bank.
