WICHITA - Wichita State's men's tennis team will start the State Farm Missouri Valley Conference tournament on Saturday after earning a bye round as the No. 2 seed.
The Shockers (12-8, 4-1) will not play in Friday's quarterfinals as their No. 2 seed earned both them and No. 1 seed Illinois State byes in the first round.

David Cavalcanti and freshman
Matheus Pereira will display their All-Conference doubles honors as they head into the tournament with a 6-1 mark, 5-0 in the MVC.
The duo is also undefeated in conference singles play in the No. 5 and 6 positions. Each have 13 wins this spring, a feat junior
Adrian Chermaci has also accomplished to help lead the Shocks. Wichita is led by redshirt freshman
Sven Kasper at the No. 1 spot. Kasper is 19-13 this season with a 7-5 spring record.
The Shockers will take on the winner of Friday's quarterfinal match between No. 3 Drake and No. 6 Bradley. The Shocks nabbed wins from each of them during the regular season.
FIrst serve for the Shockers is scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex.
