NEWTON, Kan. -- Incoming Shocker freshman
Hannah Martin added another title to her resume as she won the Kansas Women's Golf Association Junior Tournament of Champions earlier today at Sand Creek Station Golf Club.
The tournament is an invitation only field of 16 young women golfers from across the state based upon KWGA Junior Golf participation and scores. Martin defeated Cassie Lowell 4&3 on Tuesday before defeating Kansas signee and McPherson, Kan., native Audrey Yowell 4&3 today in Newton.
"One of our immediate goals for this program is to become the top program in the region," head women's golf coach
Tom McCurdy said. "Hannah's performance is indicative of the progress we are making in continuing to move this program toward that goal. We congratulate her on another outstanding performance."
Martin also brought home the 17-18 year old Division championship at the 2009 Junior State Championship earlier this summer at the Winfield Country Club.
