• The Wichita State women's basketball team returns from the Thanksgiving Holiday in preparation for a busy week when the Shockers host South Dakota (1-1) Sunday afternoon inside Charles Koch Arena. It marks the first of three games this week for the Shockers, who will wrap up their season-best five-game homestand on Friday against Northern Colorado.
• The game will be broadcast live on KNSS 1330 AM with Brian Petrotta on the call. Fans can also listen worldwide through the web stream at ShockerRadio.com.
• South Dakota comes into Sunday's meeting with a 1-1 record following a win over Iowa Wesleyan on Tuesday night. The Coyotes lost to Green Bay, 53-40, in the season opener. Sunday marks the first time the team has ventured outside of its home state, the start of a three-game road swing for the Great West Conference members playing as reclassifying members of Division I. Sunday marks the first in a home-and-home series between the clubs.
• Wichita State is 9-1 under head coach Jody Adams in non-conference home contests. WSU's only loss was a 65-58 defeat at the hands of Kent State last December. The Shockers have won those games by an average margin of more than 12 points per game. WSU has won four-straight non-conference home games, and 17-of-18 out of league games inside Charles Koch Arena.
• The Shockers are expected to be back at full-strength for the first time since the season opener. Ashley Gladden is expected to rejoin the club after missing the last game due to a death in the family. Sheena Johnson, who missed a game to injury, returned to the lineup Monday against La Salle.
• WSU is 7-0 all-time against the Great West Conference, with the last meeting against a GWC coming two years ago with a 40-34 win over Texas-Pan American.
• Wichita State is trying to win a third-straight game for just the second time under head coach Jody Adams. WSU won three-straight in early December last year, and has not won four-consecutive games since December of 2005.
• The Shockers come into Monday's matchup leading the conference in a pivotal category, turnover margin. WSU enters the game with a +8.33 margin, averaging just 16.7 miscues per game. The Shocks are forcing an average of 25 turnovers per game, which leads all MVC schools.
