WICHITA, Kan. -- The Wichita State women's tennis team and members of the Shocker men's tennis team have recieved academic honors by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, Director of Tennis Chris Young announced today.
For the fourth-straight season, the Shocker women's squad was honored as an ITA All-Academic Team, with Lenore Lazaroiu being named an ITA Scholar-Athlete. The men's squad, meanwhile, saw three of its members recieve the distinction of ITA Scholar-Athlete. Adrian Chermaci, Jonathan Obrist and Scott McCormick each recieved ITA Scholar-Athlete honors.
"I am proud to have four student-athletes receive this honor," Young said. "Both teams finished with at least a 3.25 GPA this year, and our women have been honored as an All-Academic Team four years in a row. We are committed to being the best both on and off the court, and these honors signify our achievements in that area."
