Kelly Broussard,
Emily Stockman and
Mary Elizabeth Hooper have been named to the 2008 AVCA All-Central Region Team. Broussard and Stockman were both named to the first team, while Hooper earned Region Freshman-of-the-Year honors and was also on the honorable mention list.
Broussard, a senior libero from San Antonio, Texas, was named the Missouri Valley Conference Libero-of-the-Year and first team all-Valley in 2008. She averaged 5.38 digs per set and also set the MVC record for career digs with 2,202.
Stockman, a junior outside hitter from Colorado Springs, Colo., was named the Missouri Valley Conference Player-of-the-Year and first team all-Valley in 2008. She averaged 3.65 kills, 0.29 aces, 3.07 digs and 0.58 blocks per set.
Hooper, a freshman setter from Plano, Texas, was named the Missouri Valley Conference Freshman-of-the-Year and first team all-Valley in 2008. She averaged 1.28 kills, 10.47 assists, 1.94 digs and 0.54 blocks per set. She is the first Wichita State player to receive Region Freshman-of-the-Year honors.
