WICHITA, Kan. ? Wichita State volleyball student-athletes
Kelly Broussard,
Lindsey Eckenrode and
Angela Jakubov have been named to the 2008 ESPN The Magazine CoSIDA Academic All-District team. Broussard was a first team selection, while Eckenrode and Jakubov were both named to the second team.
Broussard, a senior from San Antonio, Texas, has a 3.58 GPA in marketing. She is currently averaging 5.22 digs per set for the 11th-ranked Shockers.
Eckenrode, a junior from The Woodlands, Texas, has a 3.85 GPA in communication science and disorders. She is currently averaging 2.51 kills per set.
Jakubov, a senior from Maize, Kan., has a 3.85 GPA in finance. She is currently averaging 1.82 kills per set.
The seven student-athletes selected to the first team will now move on to the national ballot in consideration for the honor of Academic All-America?.
Student-athletes eligible to be nominated for the team must have a 3.30 cumulative GPA, must be at least a sophomore athletically and academically, must be enrolled in the university for at least a year, and must participate in at least 50 percent of the teams games.
