WICHITA, Kan. ? The annual Wichita State baseball Fall World Series will begin on Tue., Oct. 2, at Eck Stadium. The series will last until Mon., Oct. 15, while Alumni Weekend will be held Oct. 12-13.
The Shocker roster will be divided into two teams, the Black and the Gold. One will be coached by 16th-year assistant coach Jim Thomas and the other by second-year volunteer assistant Jerod Goodale. The rosters will be announced at a later date.
The Black squad won the 2006 Fall World Series in six games.
Returnee
Andy Dirks led the Gold squad with a .300 average with six RBI, two home runs and seven stolen bases, while
Jared Simon pitched 11.1 innings with a 3.18 ERA for the Gold.
Damon Sublett led the Black squad with a .483 average with 11 runs, two doubles, a home run and six RBI, while
Tyson Fugett pitched 10 innings with a 0.00 ERA.
Admission to each game of the Fall World Series is a can of food for the Kansas Food Bank.
