Wichita, Kan.-  Senior Madina Rakhim has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Player-of-the-Week after leading No. 50 Wichita State to victory over No. 75 Indiana State.

She defeated two-time MVC Individual champion Jennifer Migan, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3, in the first singles positon, pushing her record to 6-1 on the season.

Rakhim then teamed up with freshman Florentina Hanisch to topple Migan and Joanne Schickerling, also two-time MVC champions, in the No. 1 doubles spot, 8-6.

The Shockers will be back in action starting Feb. 23-25 in Tulsa, Okla. taking on No. 49 University of Tulsa and No. 45 Southern Methodist University.
