WICHITA, Kan. ? Three Wichita State baseball student-athletes have been named to the 2008 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Preseason All-America team. Junior third baseman Conor Gillaspie was named to the second team, while senior starting pitcher Rob Musgrave and junior starting pitcher Aaron Shafer were both named to the third team.

Gillaspie, from Omaha, Neb., hit .325 with 24 doubles, four triples, six home runs and 63 RBI in 2007. Last season, he earned first team all-Valley honors and was named Most Valuable Player of the Cape Cod League this summer.

Musgrave, a left-handed pitcher from Carbondale, Kan., went 10-2 with a 2.59 ERA and 85 strikeouts last season. In 2007, he earned honorable mention all-Valley honors and this summer he was named the number one prospect in the Jayhawk League by Baseball America.

Shafer, a right-handed pitcher from Moscow Mills, Mo., went 8-2 with a 2.23 ERA and 90 strikeouts in 2007. This summer, he was named one of the top prospects in the Cape Cod League by Baseball America.
