Shockers Sweep Bradley

WICHITA, Kan. ?The Shockers (12-2, 4-0) won their 31st-straight match inside Charles Koch Arena with a sweep of Bradley (3-10, 0-3). WSU won by scores of 30-14, 30-22 and 30-19.

Amanda Moore led the Shockers with 13 kills and hit .667 in the match. Sara Lungren added 10 kills and seven digs, while Abby Harsh had a match-high 33 assists and Melissa Granville had a match-high 19 digs.

Kelly Niemeyer led Bradley with 11 kills.

The Shockers jumped out to a 6-0 lead in game one helped by a couple of kills each by Stephanie Tokarz and Angela Jakubov. Back-to-back aces by Jakubov increased the Shocker lead to 13-3 and a Tokarz kills gave WSU a 20-8 advantage. The Shockers won game one 30-14 on a kill by Sara Lungren.

BU took an early 4-1 lead in game two and increased the lead to 8-3 with a block. The Shockers responded with a 6-1 run to tie it at nine. WSU took a 24-14 lead on a kill by Lindsey Eckenrode and won game two 30-22 on a kill by Katie Niggemeyer.

An Eckenrode kill gave the Shockers an early 8-6 lead in game three and a kill by Moore increased it to 15-10. Back-to-back service aces by Kelly Broussard made the score 23-11 before the Shockers closed out the game 30-19 on a kill by Moore.

The Shockers next host Missouri State at 7 p.m. on Fri., Sept. 29.
