Korey Torgerson

Korey Torgerson

Korey Torgerson is in his 24th year at WSU, serving as the Associate Athletic Director for Student Services. Torgerson has served as Assistant AD for Compliance and Student Services and was the Compliance Coordinator for five years since joining the WSU-ICAA in June 1996.

Torgerson is in charge of maintaining a sound compliance program, tracking initial and continuing eligibility for all sports, monitoring playing and practice seasons, educating Wichita State constituencies regarding NCAA rules, administering the National Letter of Intent program, and collecting data for compilation of annual reports to the NCAA, American Athletic Conference and other organizations.

In 1994, he earned a B.A. in Divisional Science from Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kan., and spent the 1995-96 academic year as a graduate assistant in the WSU athletic director’s office while completing a Master’s of Education degree in Sports Administration.

Torgerson played tennis one year at Bethany College. He served as an assistant women's basketball coach from 1990-94, and he also coached the Bethany junior varsity women’s basketball team during the 1993-94 season.

Born in Waverly, Iowa, Torgerson graduated in 1990 from Smoky Valley High School in Lindsborg, Kan. He is married to former Wichita State basketball athlete and track and field All-American Deana Alexander. The couple has two daughters, Quinn and Cole, and a 
son, Drew.
