FRESHMAN (2026)
Named to the Fall Athletic Director's Honor Roll... Played in 51 of the team's 52 games, making 47 starts in left field... Hit .283 with 29 runs, 34 hits, three doubles, a triple, seven home runs and 24 RBIs as a true freshman... Belted a solo home run at East Carolina in the American Conference semifinals... Had a two-hit game with a home run and four RBIs in the finale vs. Memphis on May 2... Doubled and scored a run vs. Memphis on April 30... Went 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and three RBIs vs. UTSA on April 11... Singled twice and scored a run vs. Tulsa on April 3... Scored twice to go with a double and an RBI vs. Tulsa on April 2... Went 2-for-5 with two runs at South Florida on March 27... Hit a walk-off two-run home run vs. Florida Atlantic on March 21 in the bottom of the 9th... Tripled and scored twice vs. South Dakota State on March 17... Had a pair of singles in the series opener at East Carolina on March 6... Smacked a solo homer vs. Drake on Feb. 28... In the second game of a doubleheader vs. Creighton, she hit her second career home run... Her first collegiate hit was a solo home run vs. No. 9 Arkansas on Feb. 13.

HIGH SCHOOL
Rooney, a 5-3 outfielder and track star from Louisburg, Kan., will bring a major speed element to the Shockers... She is a track athlete naturally, having only played softball her freshman year at Louisburg where she played in the outfield... She has qualified for the Kansas state track tournament in three events in her track career in the 4x100, 4x400, and 300-meter hurdles... She also set the school record in the 4x100 her sophomore year.

PERSONAL
She is the daughter of Kendall and Nancy Rooney and has a brother, Jackson... Her dad and brother are both former collegiate athletes with her dad playing football competing at Carson-Newman and her brother currently competes in throwing events for the track and field team at Central Missouri... Rooney plans to major in physical therapy at Wichita State.
