Austin Bahner Career Stats
Shocker All-American, Decathlon record-holder and U.S.A. Team member Austin Bahner is a volunteer assistant on the track and field team staff.
He earned 2013 NCAA All-American honors for the Shockers in the Decathlon after a 10th-place finish, and was also 15th at the 2014 and 16th at the 2013 NCAA Indoor Championships.
He also won the 2013 Missouri Valley Conference Heptathlon and 2014 MVC Decathlon.
In 2013 he set the Wichita State Decathlon record with 7,847 points and also ranks second at WSU in the Heptathlon with 5,666 points which he scored in 2014.
This past summer, he finished eighth at the 2016 U.S. Track and Field Olympic Trials in the Decathlon, and went on to represent the U.S. at the Thorpe Cup, the U.S.'s multi-event competition against Germany.

Bahner is a five-time Missouri Valley Conference Champion, three-time NCAA All-American, runner-up in the Heptathlon at the USA Indoor Championships, and a four-time team USA Competitor in the decathlon.
A Wichita native, he graduated from Wichita Heights High School and lettered in basketball, soccer and track and field.
Bahner was born July 7, 1991, and is the son of Brent and Lisa Bahner. His brother, Davis, is a freshman on the track and field team, and his sister, Bailey, is a former member of the team. He also has a younger sister, Carly.
