Career Summary: A consistent presence whose self-described role included “doing the dirty work”… Ended his career with 654 rebounds -- most by a Marshall Era Shocker and 20th all-time. Also ranked second all-time in offensive rebounds with 261 (WSU began tracking in 1985-86) and tied for fourth in games played (139)… Described by coaches and teammates an "everyday guy," which was quite literally the case. 2016-17 (Junior): Emerged as a vocal leader on the floor… Averaged 5.5. points and 4.8 rebounds while appearing in all 36 games… Started the first eight contests before moving to a reserve role and made the MVC’s All-Bench Team… Averaged 16.8 minutes but saw increased playing time late in the year… Was on the floor for 20+ minutes in each of the last nine games (after topping 20 on just two other occasions over the first 27 contests)… During league play, ranked among the MVC leaders with over 7 offensive rebounds per 40 minutes… Averaged 6.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and almost a dunk-a-game during WSU’s 16-game winning streak late in the year... 2015-16 (Sophomore): Appeared in all 35 games… Started the first six before shifting to a reserve role… Averaged 16.1 minutes… Showed improved stamina and added range to his jumper over the summer, making him a more consistent offense performer… Scored a point in 33 of the 35 contests and finished with averages of 4.1 points and 3.6 rebounds… Leading rebounder on five occasions, with a season-high eight boards at Drake (Feb. 9)… Scored in double-figures twice… Had an 11-point game against Loyola (Jan. 27) on 4-of-5 shooting… Dunked three times against Missouri State (Feb. 18) on his way to a season-high 12 points and also dished out career-highs with four assists and three steals in the win over the Bears… Played a season-high 27 minutes in the MVC quarterfinals against Loyola… Averaged 18.0 minutes in three NCAA Tournament games and chipped in 2.7 points and 2.7 rebounds…
2014-15 (Freshman): The only Shocker reserve to see time in all 35 games… Averaged 2.9 points and 2.9 rebounds at power forward… 13.8 minutes per game was the most for any WSU bench player… Made four starts in place of an injured Evan Wessel – three of which came at the Diamond Head Classic, Dec. 22, 23, 25… Was the hero of an overtime win over host Hawaii in the semifinals, scoring a season-high 12 points to go with six boards. His offensive rebound and putback with just three seconds to go in OT gave the Shockers a one-point win… Came through with two clutch baskets in the final minutes of a comeback win over Alabama on Dec. 16… Grabbed a season-high seven rebounds in a Dec. 6 victory over Saint Louis at INTRUST Bank Arena… Was one of six Shockers to finish with 100+ rebounds and ranked third on the team with 45 offensive boards… Named one of 20 Under-the-Radar Freshmen to watch by CBSSports.com during the preseason.
Prep School: Played the 2013-14 season with the post graduate team at Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va… Was voted Team MVP after averaging 22.3 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, 2.1 steals… Served as team captain… Played for coach A.W. Hamilton… Chose WSU over Cincinnati, East Carolina, George Mason, George Washington, Marshall and Xavier.
