EUGENE, Ore. – Wichita State's Jason Parrish earned Second Team All-America recognition with an 11^th-place finish in the semifinals of the 400-meter hurdles on day one of the NCAA Outdoor Championships at Hayward Field.
 
The junior from Olathe, Kan. ran 49.77 to finish fourth in his heat and 11^th overall, missing the final by two spots. For the second-straight season, Parrish was named a Second Team All-American in the event, the first Shocker in program history to be a two-time All-American in the 400 hurdles.
 
Also competing on day one, Josh Parrish earned All-American Honorable Mention recognition in both the 110-meter hurdles and the long jump. The junior ran 13.52 in the hurdles with a disappointing stumble over the final hurdle, finishing 18^th and missing the Friday's final, before placing 20^th in the long jump with a mark of 7.26m/23'10".
 
The Parrish twins conclude their seasons, wrapping up the collegiate competition season for the Wichita State men's team. Jelese Alexander will compete for the Shocker women on Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CT in the high jump.
