No. 28 Wichita State Extends Win Streak to 17 with Senior Day Victory over Tulsa

WICHITA, Kan. — The No. 28 Wichita State women's tennis team extended its winning streak to 17 with a 4-1 Senior Day victory over Tulsa on Saturday at the Sheldon Coleman Tennis Complex.

The Shockers (19-3) completed the 2026 season a perfect 9-0 at home with the win over Tulsa (13-11). The 17th consecutive victory tied the program record for longest win streak, set in 2016.

"What a way to finish the regular season, especially for our five seniors," head coach Jacob Eddins said. "I'm so proud of this group. For them to finish their last home match by tying the win streak record and going undefeated at home is a product of their hard work and determination."

In doubles, No. 34 Xin Tong Wang and Giorgia Roselli opened with a 6-2 win at No. 1. Shortly after, Theodora Chantava and Kristina Kudryavtseva secured the doubles point with a 6-4 victory at No. 2, giving the Shockers the early advantage heading into singles.

In singles, Wichita State maintained control by winning five of six first sets.

Wang extended the lead to 2-0 with a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 1.

At No. 6, Nikolenko followed with a 6-1, 7-5 victory, pushing the Shockers ahead 3-0.

No. 102-ranked Chantava was edged at No. 3, falling 7-5, 7-5, as Tulsa got on the board to make it 3-1.
One point away from clinching, Vimuktananda delivered, finishing off the match with a 7-5, 6-4 win at No. 4 for her eighth match-clinching victory of the season.

"We're looking forward to competing at the American Conference Championship next week," Eddins said. "We hope to keep building momentum with each opportunity we have to compete."
