SAN ANTONIO — Wichita State earned its ninth consecutive win with a 4-1 victory over UTSA on Thursday at the UTSA Tennis Center.

With the win, the Shockers (11-3) dealt UTSA (6-6) its first home loss of the season. Wichita State's nine-match winning streak is the program's longest since 2016, when the Shockers won 17 in a row.

In doubles, No. 12-ranked
Xin Tong Wang and
Giorgia Roselli earned a swift 6-0 win at No. 1 to give the Shockers early momentum. It was their fifth consecutive victory as a pair.

Theodora Chantava and
Kristina Kudryavtseva clinched the doubles point for Wichita State with a 6-2 win at No. 2. The victory marked Wichita State's 11th doubles point of the season and its 10th in a row.
In singles, the sides split the first sets, three apiece.

UTSA evened the match with a 6-2, 6-2 win over
Sati Aubakirova at No. 6, but Kudryavtseva answered with a 6-2, 6-2 victory at No. 4 to put the Shockers back in front.

Wang made the score 3-1 with a 6-4, 6-2 win at No. 1, moving Wichita State within one point of victory.

Roselli recorded her eighth consecutive singles win — a 6-0, 7-6 (0) triumph at No. 2 — to clinch the match.
