A New Season Begins
• Wichita State men's tennis is in its fourth season under head coach Darragh Glavin.
• The Shockers went 12–13 last season, their best record and highest win total under Glavin.
• Wichita State had a preseason team Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) of 74.43, which ranked as No. 66 in the NCAA.
• WSU's team UTR is the fifth-highest in the American Conference.
• The Shockers are 3-6 on the season with wins over New Mexico State, Omaha, and Oral Roberts.
Friday Recap
• Wichita State split a doubleheader on Friday in Norman, Okla., beating Oral Roberts 4-0 before falling to No. 10 Oklahoma, 4-2.
• Against ORU, the Shockers used a pair of 6-3 victories to snag the doubles point.
• In singles, Pablo Roche Alcaya, Rodrigo Cruz, and Amir Milushev earned wins to close out the 4-0 victory.
• In doubles against the Sooners, the Shockers pulled off the upset, winning doubles with another pair of 6-3 wins, this time at No. 1 by Zaid Al Mashni and Alcaya and by Cruz and Ilias Worthington at No. 3.
• In singles, the Shockers continued to compete, but Oklahoma ultimately prevailed, defeating Worthington, Milushev, Bracks, and Cruz.
• Alcaya was the lone Shocker to win in singles, winning 7-6 (5), 6-1 over No. 107-ranked Johan Rodriguez at No. 3.
Fall Notes
• The Shockers earned 12 singles wins and five doubles wins in limited fall action.
• Alejandro Jacome led the Shockers in the fall with four singles wins, including three at the American Conference Singles Championship.
• Worthington led the team in doubles wins with three.
• Jacome reached the semifinals of the American Conference Singles Championship and the doubles championship with Worthington.
• Al Mashni ended the fall ranked No. 66 by the ITA in singles
Last Year's Leaders
• Worthington led the Shockers in singles wins with 13, with Jacome close behind at 11.
• Jacome and Worthington tied for the team lead in doubles wins with 11 among returning Shockers.
Returners to the Lineup
• Five Shockers return for another season in Wichita in 2026.
• The five returners combined for 39 of the team's 65 dual-match singles wins last season.
• Three of the top five Shockers in singles wins—Jacome, Worthington, and Milushev—are back with Wichita State.
Newcomers
• The Shockers have four new players for the 2025–26 season, with three arriving for the spring semester.
• All four—Alcaya, Cruz, Felix Bockelmann-Evans, and James Lammas—arrived in Wichita as true freshmen.

• Wichita State is 6-16 against American Conference opponents in the Glavin era.
• The Shockers were 4-4 against American Conference teams last season.
• Wichita State was 6-3 when playing at home last season and 5-2 against unranked teams at home.

Scouting UTSA
• UTSA is in its second year under head coach Sasha Gozun
• The Roadrunners are 0-4 on the year with losses to Texas A&M, Arizona State, Grand Canyon, and Oklahoma State.
• All of UTSA's matches this year have been on the road.
• The Roadrunners were 12-11 last season and 3-4 playing on the road.
• UTSA was 2-4 playing American Conference opponents last season.
