BOISE, Idaho — Wichita State fell 6-1 to Boise State on Friday at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center.

The Shockers (4-7) dropped to 0-5 in the all-time series with Boise State (6-2) with the defeat.

In doubles play, Boise State took the early advantage with a 6-2 win at No. 1 over
Zaid Al Mashni and
Pablo Roche Alcaya.
Rodrigo Cruz and
Ilias Worthington responded with a 6-3 win at No. 3.

At No. 2,
Amir Milushev and
Alejandro Jacome vied for the doubles point. Leading 4-2, Boise State rallied to win the next four games to win the court 6-4, clinching the doubles point.

In singles, the teams split the first sets, three apiece.

Alcaya was the first to fall, losing 6-3, 6-1 at No. 4. Next, Cruz fell narrowly at 6-3, 6-4 at No. 6, putting Boise State up 3-0.Â

A 6-3, 6-4 defeat of
Luke Bracks at No. 5 clinched the match for Boise State.

Playing the match out, Boise State defeated both Worthington and Al Mashni at Nos. 1 and 2 singles to extend the lead to 6-0.

Jacome ended the match on a positive note for the Shockers, winning a tight match at No. 3, 7-6 (4), 6
-3. The victory for Jacome marked his 50th career collegiate singles win.
