WICHITA – Wichita State's
Jason Parrish's showing in the 400-meter hurdles was named the American Athletic Conference Men's Outdoor Track Most Outstanding Performance, the conference announced Thursday morning.

The sophomore from Olathe, Kan. ran a lifetime-best time of 49.17 to win the 400-meter hurdles at the AAC Outdoor Championships, upsetting UTSA's Hugo Menin.

His time ranks seventh in the NCAA this year and set a new AAC Outdoor Championships meet record and Irwin Belk Track and Field Center facility record. He also moved to the top of the Wichita State record books, setting a new school record, and now ranks No. 1 in the AAC.

Parrish will compete in the NCAA West Preliminaries Wednesday, May 28 and Friday, May 30 for a chance to qualify to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in June.
