Sean Johnson Twins (Brace Hemmelgarn / Minnesota Twins)
Sean Johnson
Former Wichita State baseball player Sean Johnson, a graduate of Wichita South High School, is assistant general manager of the Minnesota Twins after a promotion in January. We talk about why he loves working for the Twins, the importance of curiosity in scouting and players to watch as the Twins open spring training.

We discuss Twins prospect Walker Jenkins, an outfielder, who is likely to start the summer with the Double-A Wichita Wind Surge. We also talk about how playing and working for Shocker coaches Gene Stephenson, Jim Thomas and Brent Kemnitz launched his career in baseball.

Johnson is assistant general manager of the Minnesota Twins, promoted to that position in January. He started with the Twins in 2002 as an area scout and was previously vice president of amateur scouting, where he led the club's work in the player draft.

He played catcher at Wichita State from 1996-98 and is a graduate of Wichita South High School. Alex Johnson, Sean's younger brother, is associate athletic director for Development and Revenue Generation at Wichita State. Kara Johnson, his sister, is executive director of Donor Experience at the WSU Foundation and Alumni Engagement.
