Wichita State pitcher Caleb Reed and catcher Ethan Gonzalez join the podcast to talk about which teammates are making a good impression in fall workouts, the influence of their baseball-loving fathers and theories of mound visits.

We also discuss uniform numbers, intro songs and favorite barbecue spots. The Shockers scrimmage Nebraska at 1 p.m., Saturday at Eck Stadium.

 

Reed is a senior from Olathe who is in his second season at Wichita State. He went 6-1 last season with a 4.65 earned run average in 21 appearances, three of them starts. He close the season with 6.2 innings vs. Memphis in the conference tournament on short rest, striking out eight and allowing five hits.

Gonzalez is from San Antonio and is in his second season with the Shockers. He started 41 games at catcher last season, including all 27 American Conference games and five in four days at the conference tournament.
