WICHITA – Wichita State's
Destiny Masters claimed her first American Athletic Conference award of the season, earning AAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week recognition, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Masters put up a conference-leading pentathlon score of 4,083 points to finish eighth in a stacked field at the DeLoss Dodds Invitational. She tied for the best high jump clearance of the day, jumping 1.76m/5'9.25" and remains the AAC leader in the event. She threw a personal-best 13.64m/44'9" in the shot put to move up to ninth in the conference.

The senior from El Dorado, Kan. ranks 16
th in the NCAA in the pentathlon and is tied for 19
th in the high jump.

This is Masters' third career AAC weekly award but first during an indoor season, making her the first female Shocker since Sidney Sapp in 2020 to claim an AAC indoor weekly honor.
