WICHITA – Wichita State's
Kate Campos and
Yared Kidane swept the American Athletic Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.

Kidane, a redshirt-junior from Sweden, broke the AAC 800-meter record at the Arkansas Qualifier, finishing second with a personal-best time of 1:47.21. He now holds an almost three-second lead on the rest of the conference going into the championship weekend and ranks 25
th in the NCAA.

Campos claimed Wichita State's first-ever AAC women's indoor track athlete of the week award after running a personal-best 8.37 in the 60-meter hurdles to rank sixth in the conference and fifth all-time in Shocker history. The sophomore from Lincoln, Neb. looks to score in the event this weekend at the AAC Indoor Championships.

The AAC Indoor Championships are set for this Friday and Saturday, Feb. 28 and March 1 at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
