WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State Athletics will once again be teaming up with the Wichita Wagonmasters at the 2024 Wichita Wagonmasters Downtown Chili Cookoff in Wichita on Saturday, Sept. 28.
 
Join WuShock, the Spirit Squad and Shocker Sound Machine for a pep rally to kick the event off beginning at 11:30 a.m. Wichita State Athletics will also be serving chili at their booth located near the corner of St. Francis Ave. & Douglas Ave. Event attendees are encouraged to stop by to sample chili, grab a Fear the Wheat koozie, get photos with WuShock and the Spirit Squad, and enter to win prizes including free tickets to athletic events.

The Wagonmasters Downtown Chili Cookoff has been a Wichita tradition for over 30 years. It is held in the 500 block of East Douglas Avenue right by Naftzger Park.
 
Public tasting begins at noon and tasting kits are available for purchase on-site for only $5. All proceeds from the event benefit Good Life Grants which gets distributed to dozens of local charities. Last year the event raised approximately $30,000 for the cause.
