LIMA, Peru – Wichita State's
Josh Parrish represented Team U.S.A. in the long jump at the World Athletics U20 Championships Thursday afternoon in Lima, Peru, placing 22
nd.
The Shocker sophomore jumped 7.21m/23'7.75" in the first round of the long jump competition to take 22
nd overall. Parrish is the first Wichita State student-athlete since Taran Taylor and Rayvon Allen in 2017 to qualify to the World U20 Championships.
The Olathe, Kan. native earned a spot on Team U.S.A. following a stellar freshman track and field season, where he took second in the 110-meter hurdles and third in the long jump at the American Athletic Conference Outdoor Championships to claim two all-conference awards and qualify to the NCAA West Preliminaries in both events.
