IOWA CITY, Iowa – The Wichita State men's golf team is set to finish out the regular season at the Hawkeye Invitational beginning on April 13 at Finkbine Golf Course.
 
This will the Shockers second straight year making the trip to the Hawkeye State and Head Coach Judd Easterling is looking forward to the tournament.
 
"I'm really excited about going to Iowa," Head Coach Judd Easterling said. "We played really well up there last year."
 
The Shockers have shown lots of growth and promise in the last two tournaments with a second-place finish last month in the Twin Oaks Intercollegiate and a ninth place finish out of 20 teams in a loaded field in the Wyoming Cowboy Classic two weeks ago. 
 
The result two weeks ago moved the Shockers up 11 spots in the Clippd College Golf Rankings, the highest jump the Shockers have made after a tournament this season.
 
"We're coming off a really good finish down in Arizona," said Easterling. "We played really well in the final round and overall, it was our best tournament performance of the year."
 
For the lineup in Iowa, familiar faces in Aston Castillo, Blake Lorenz, Zach Sokolosky, and Michael Winslow will make the trip and Tate Herrenbruck will return to the Shocker lineup for the first time since February 7.
