MANHATTAN, Kan. – Wichita State's multi-event athletes are set to compete in the pentathlon and heptathlon Thursday and Friday at Ahearn Fieldhouse.

The Shockers' women's pentathlon squad came in at No. 4 in the season's first USTFCCCA event squad rankings, which averages the top-four athletes' marks from each team in the event. Wichita State averages 3,593 points in the pentathlon.

The Shockers are led by
Destiny Masters, who broke the Wichita State pentathlon record in December with 4,151 points at the Shocker Multi. She currently ranks fifth in the nation with that mark.
Tess Roman and
Sadie Millard also set personal bests in the season opener with 3,495 points and 3,442 points respectively.
Kenisa Meyer's 3,284 points at the Shocker Multi rounds out the Shockers' top four in the event.
Abby Klipstein will also compete at the K-State Multis, her second pentathlon of the season.

Wichita State is also sending four men to compete in the heptathlon as
Adria Navajon, the reigning American Athletic Conference heptathlon champion will compete in his second multi-event competition of the year after winning the Shocker Multi with 5,200 points.
Hudson Bailey,
Luke Porter and
Luke Czarnecki will also complete their second heptathlon of the season.

The Shockers will compete against athletes from Kansas State, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Miami (Fla.) and Hendrix.

Day one of the heptathlon begins Thursday at noon with the pentathlon beginning at 12:20 p.m., and day two of the heptathlon starts Friday at 11 a.m.
