- C. Cleanthony Early, a 6-foot-8 forward, led the Shockers with averages of 16.2 points and 7.6 rebounds in the NCAA Tournament, including 24 points and 10 rebounds in the Final Four loss to Louisville.
- A. Jackie Carmichael fouled Cotton, leading to two free throws for Cleanthony Early to start an 8-0 run for the Shockers in the final 40 seconds.
