SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Brady Palen advanced to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in two weeks in Austin, Texas with his high jump clearance of 2.14m/7'0.25" Friday at the NCAA West preliminaries at Hornet Stadium.

After a third-attempt clearance at his opening bar, the sophomore from Beloit, Kan. was perfect at the next two bars, securing one of the top-12 spots that advance to the championship on Friday, June 9 at Mike A. Myers Stadium.

Palen is the first Shocker since David Puvogel in 1982 to qualify to the national meet in the high jump.

Samantha Marx concluded her sophomore campaign with a 40
th-place finish in the javelin, throwing 43.28m/142'0".

Zarrey Sams jumped over six meters for the second time this season, leaping 6.03m/19'9.5" to place 25
th.

Matty Everett threw 53.32m/174'11" in the discus, placing 38
th in his third regional meet.

Harry Barthelemy jumped 15.07m/49'5.5" to finish 30
th in the triple jump, and
Yuben Goncalves only attempted one jump, leaping 14.22m/46'8" to finish 43
rd.

In the 400-meter hurdles quarterfinal, Goncalves ran 51.25 to finish 17
th.
