WICHITA – Wichita State multi-event athlete Destiny Masters was tabbed Women's Field Athlete of the Week Monday by the American Athletic Conference.
 
The sophomore from El Dorado, Kan. cleared a conference-leading 1.79m/5'10.5" in the high jump on her way to winning the heptathlon at the Stan State Multi in Turlock, Calif.
 
Her high jump clearance tied her outdoor personal best and ranks 16^th in the nation (11^th in the West Region) and scored 966 points towards her personal best heptathlon score of 5,258 points, which ranks 23^rd in the nation (10^th in the West Region).
 
Masters also threw a new personal best in the javelin (39.03m/128'1") and recorded the top mark in four of the seven events.
 
Masters and the Shockers return to the track Thursday in Lawrence, Kan. at the Kansas Relays.
