Bryan, Taylor to Throw at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Michael Bryan and Taran Taylor head to the Pacific Northwest to compete in the NCAA Outdoor Championships Wednesday at Hayward Field.
 
Top eight in each event earn First Team All-America honors, while the next eight are named to the Second Team, followed by the final eight earning Honorable Mention.

Bryan, a two-time All-American, looks to add to his honors after winning the 2022 American Athletic Conference (AAC) Indoor (weight throw) and Outdoor (hammer) Championships and placing third at the NCAA West Preliminaries to enter the competition as the No. 5 seed. His season-best throw of 70.33m/230'9" ranks 12th in the NCAA this year and 21st in the United States. Bryan holds a personal best of 70.45m/231'2", which he achieved in 2021.

Taylor makes his NCAA Championship debut in the javelin as the No. 5 seed after placing second at the NCAA West Prelims with his second-farthest throw of the season. His season best came at the AAC Outdoor Championships when he threw 73.93m/242'7" to repeat as the javelin champion. That mark ranks Taylor 11th in the NCAA and 14th in the U.S. this year. Taylor is no stranger to championship competition, winning the 2018 USATF Junior Championships and competing in the 2018 IAAF World U20 Championships. Taylor holds a personal best of 74.26m/243'8", which he threw in 2018 at the conference meet.
