SEDONA, Ariz. - Led by
Louisa Brunt's top five finish, Wichita State tied for 6th at the Red Rocks Invitational.
Behind a 5-under 67 on the final 18 holes, Brunt collected her second top five finish of the season with a total score of 1-under par, 215. Her final round, 67, marked a new career low 18 hole score. It's the second under-par tournament of the season, coming just a stroke behind her season best 2-under par at the Johnie Imes Invitational in the fall.
As a team, Wichita State tied for 6th at 26-over par, 890 (300-296-294). The Shockers' total score of 890 marked a new season best.
Megan Lucas played her best golf of the season, tying for 17th at 5-over par, 221. It is her first top 20 finish of the season. Her second round score of 1-under par, 71, was a career-low.
Kenni Henson returned to the lineup and shot out of the gate with a first round score of 1-under par, 71. After posting an 82 in the second round and 75 in the final round, Henson tied for 37th at 12-over par, 228.
Another career low round came from
Sarah Lawson in the second round. Lawson carded a second round score of 2-under par, 70, setting a new personal best. She finished the tournament tied for 56th at 16-over par, 232.
Rounding out the Shocker lineup was
Mar Vidal in a tie for 79th at 22-over par, 238.Â
