Track and Field Travels to Arkansas for Final Regular Season Showing

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – The Wichita State track and field team competes in their final regular season meet Friday at the Arkansas Qualifier inside the Randal Tyson Track Center.
 
26 Shockers from the sprints/hurdles, jumps and throws groups, will make the trip to Fayetteville to compete against athletes from 33 different teams.
 
The road meet serves as one last stop before the American Athletic Conference Championships the following week, where 32 athletes from each of the men's and women's teams with travel to Birmingham, Alabama to compete for conference titles.
 
Four Shockers sit atop the conference standings with one week remaining until championships. Destiny Masters leads The American in both the high jump and pentathlon with her high jump mark of 1.82m/5-11.5 tying her for 16th in the nation. Michael Bryan (weight throw), Paula Garcia (200m) and Tanner Brown (heptathlon) also lead the conference in their respective events.
