WICHITA -- The Wichita State track and field team is putting on two sessions of hurdles, high jump, long jump, triple jump and speed development camps coached by head coach Steve Rainbolt and horizontal jumps coach Heidi Benton, along with current and former WSU athletes. The camps are open to any and all, limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender. This camp is suitable for athletes ages 11-18 (6th-12th grade) of all levels, beginner to advanced.
These camps provide wonderful opportunities for great training out of the elements of winter before the track and field season begins. Athletes will learn proper technique for the hurdles, LJ, TJ, HJ, and speed development. These camps can benefit athletes of any and all sports that strive to improve their speed and power and is set up for athletes to get instruction on any of the above disciplines each evening of camp.
The format of the camps allows athletes the opportunity and flexibility to try a different event, if they choose, and to focus on the events they already compete in. Camps will be conducted on the campus of WSU at the Indoor Track and Field facility, located on the second floor of the Heskett Center.
There will be two six-session camps available that meet Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. The cost of each six session camp is $180. Note - the second camp does not meet on Thursday, February 9th due to WSU Track and Field traveling to a meet. See ALL dates for camps below.
