Wichita, Kan. -- Wichita State fell in straight sets to SMU on Sunday afternoon at Charles Koch Arena, 25-21, 25-21, 25-12.
The Mustangs (12-6, 5-1) hit .371 for the day, getting 16 kills from Jamison Wheeler and eight or more from three other sources.

Brylee Kelly each posted 13 kills for Wichita State (8-8, 3-2), but no other Shocker had more than four.
SMU led 22-16 late in the first set before the Shockers rallied, scoring four in a row to slice the Mustangs lead to 22-20. After an SMU timeout, the Mustangs scored three of the next four points to clinch the set, getting a kill from Marieke van der Mark for the winner. Foster had a monster set offensively for the Shockers, racking up seven kills to keep Wichita State within striking distance.
The Shockers sprinted out to a 10-3 lead early in the second set, but SMU scored eight of the next nine points to erase the initial deficit and pull even at 11-11. A pair of Kelly kills late in the frame put WSU in front 20-18, prompting an SMU timeout. Out of the break, the Mustangs fired off four consecutive points to seize command at 22-20, and scored three more points in a row to nail down another 25-21 win.
The third set was all Mustangs, as SMU grabbed a 6-1 edge out of the gate and never looked back. Wichita State did not score consecutive points during the set, with Jamison Wheeler putting the finishing touches on the win with her 16th kill.
Wichita State is back in action on Wednesday evening against Tulsa. First serve from Charles Koch Arena is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
