WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State will now host the 2022 American Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships May 13-15 at Cessna Stadium.
 
Due to conference bylaws, Houston will no longer be hosting the conference championships, and the senior woman administrators and athletic directors have unanimously supported moving the championships to Wichita State.
 
"We always really value hosting conference championships here," said head track and field coach Steve Rainbolt. "We were looking forward to going to Houston, but we are also looking forward to hosting the championships. I know that our coaches and athletes will be really excited about this opportunity."
