Non-Conference Opponents Finalized for Women's Hoops

9/1/2021 1:00:00 PM

WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State head women's basketball coach Keitha Adams revealed her team's 2021-22 non-conference schedule Wednesday afternoon.

The Shockers, who return all five starters and 92 percent of their scoring from a season ago, open the season with an exhibition contest against Missouri Southern on Thursday, Nov. 4 at 6 p.m. Five days later, Wichita State welcomes Chicago State to Charles Koch Arena on Nov. 9 for the official season opener.

Three straight road games send the Shockers on a trip to Wyoming and Denver, before wrapping up at Northern Iowa.

Sandwiched around Thanksgiving, Wichita State will play four consecutive home games against Prairie View A&M, Alcorn State, Northwestern State and Oral Roberts.

Two of the next three matchups send the team to South Dakota and North Texas with a home game against Grambling in the middle.

Two marquee Big 12 opponents on the slate conclude the non-conference portion of the schedule. On Dec. 21, the Kansas Jayhawks come to the Roundhouse for a pre-Christmas showdown. It will be the first meeting between the two Sunflower State foes since March 16, 2011. The final game before league play begins takes the Shockers to Oklahoma for a battle with the Sooners on Dec. 29.

Season tickets are on sale now at GoShockers.com/Tickets or by calling the Wichita State Ticket Office at 316-978-3267.
