The Wichita State men's tennis program announced the addition of volunteer assistant
David Barbieri to the coaching staff.
"Already we can tell he's someone who brings a lot of energy," head coach
Danny Bryan said. "He's excited and motivated, and he has a good amount of experience."
Barbieri comes to the Shockers after serving as a graduate assistant coach at Jacksonville State and volunteer assistant for both Drake and Missouri.
"I'm a very passionate and intense coach who enjoys focusing on the details," Barbieri said. "Wichita State has a strong program with high expectations, and I'm looking forward to working with the team."
Prior to coaching, Barbieri was a member of the tennis team at William Woods. He also attended Bethany College, where he led his team to a No. 1 national ranking and a quarterfinal appearance at the NAIA national tournament.
Barbieri earned a master's degree in science at Jacksonville State after graduating with a bachelors' degree in science from William Woods.
