WICHITA, Kan. — Wichita State head men's tennis coach
Darragh Glavin announced his group's 2026 spring season schedule Thursday afternoon.
Glavin, in his fourth year as head coach of the Shockers, has arranged a competitive, well-traveled schedule. The slate features 21 matches, with 17 played outside Wichita, including 11 true road matches.
"We're excited for the season ahead," Glavin said. "This schedule is intentional to challenge us early and prepare us fully for conference and postseason play."
Seven teams on the 2026 schedule finished last year ranked in the ITA top-75, and 11 were ranked at least once.
For the third time in the Glavin era, the Shockers will begin the year competing in Arizona, opening the season on the road against Arizona State on Jan. 14 in Tempe, Ariz.
The Shockers finished 12-13 last year, their best record since 2022 and the best in the Glavin era. They posted their most singles wins (65) and doubles wins (32) in a season since 2021.
The Shockers return five players from last year's roster and have added four freshmen to the team. Only two players —
Alejandro Jacome and
Luke Bracks — are upperclassmen.
"This team is young, eager to learn and compete," Glavin said. "They are ready to make their mark this spring."
