COLLEGE STATION, Texas—The third day of action at the NCAA West Regional saw the completion of field events before inclement weather disrupted the plans on the track on Friday night at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
All men's track events were postponed to Saturday due to thunderstorms.
Before the day was called off, the Shockers saw three athletes compete in field events.
The men's high jump kicked off the day.
Brady Palen and
Davis Dubbert both cleared 2.01m/6-7, but were unable to make height after that bar.
Dubbert finished in a tie for 40th, and Palen finished in a tie for 44th. Neither Shocker high jumper will move on to the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
Dowdy Elazarig jumped in the triple jump. His best jump of the day earned a mark of 14.86m/48-9 to finish in 40th. Elazarig's season also came to an end.
Palen, Dubbert and Elazarig had excellent seasons and all three were all-conference athletes at the AAC Championships.
The Shocker men are set to compete at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday starting with
Zack Penrod in the 1,500 meters.
Antonio Norman will follow at 12:45 p.m. in the 110-meter hurdles and
Ethan Kossover is set to run the 3,000-meter steeplechase at 4:10 p.m.
The Shocker women have representatives in two events: the women's high jump, which is set for 1 p.m., and the 3,000-meter steeplechase, which will begin at 4:45 p.m.
