IRVING, Texas – Wichita State junior infielder
Paxton Wallace was named to the final American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll of the season for his performance on the field during the week of May 17-23, the conference office announced Monday, May 24.
It's Wallace's team-best fourth weekly honor of the season.
A native of Greenbrier, Ark., Wallace hit .471 with eight hits, including a double and home run, and tallied six RBI, three walks, and a .706 slugging and .550 on-base percentage in Wichita State's series win over Memphis May 20-22.
In WSU's 8-5 victory over the Tigers in game two of a doubleheader Thursday, May 20, Wallace went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a home run before adding a 2-for-4 performance with a trio of runs driven in and a double in the Shockers' 9-5 triumph over Memphis Friday, May 21.
He also had a pair of hits in the series finale against the Tigers Saturday, May 22.
Wichita State opens American Athletic Conference Baseball Championship play against South Florida Tuesday, May 25, at BayCare Ballpark in Clearwater, Fla.
