WICHITA, Kan. - Wichita State junior forward
Jane Asinde has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll for the second straight week, it was announced Monday afternoon.
The Kampala, Uganda, native averaged 12.7 points, 12.0 rebounds and 2.3 steals over three games last week to help the Shockers go 2-1.
Asinde logged double-doubles in two of the three games, and now has double-doubles in four of the last five games since being inserted into the starting lineup. She opened the week with a 10-point, 12-rebound performance vs. Northwestern State. In a win over Oral Roberts, Asinde just missed a double-double with eight points and a season-high 13 rebounds. To finish the week she poured in a season-high 20 points on 8-of-12 shooting to go with 11 rebounds and three steals at South Dakota.
The junior college transfer leads the team in double-doubles and rebounds, and ranks second in scoring.
Asinde and the Shockers have the week off before hosting Grambling State on Saturday, Dec. 11 at 2 p.m.
