Kenny Pohto returns to his locker after a game, he checks his phone to get a critique from his mother, Nette Pohto. She is his biggest fan. She is also unafraid to tell him what went badly.
"She's going to be honest with me," he said. "She's going to tell me if I didn't play well."
Pohto, a freshman from Stockholm, Sweden, is reading a lot of good messages about his play recently. On Tuesday, he scored 14 points and grabbed eight rebounds, both season highs, in a win over Alcorn State.
