LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Freshman Lucas Scheufler delivered the best performance of his young career in a fifth place finish, as the Wichita State men's golf team wrapped up the Little Rock Invitational on Tuesday afternoon in 12th place.

It was the final tournament of the fall for the Shockers, who return to action the first week of March at Auburn's Tiger Invitational.

Scheufler (74-69-70—213, -3) gained steam over the course of two days of play at Chenal Country Club, compiling the top two individual round scores of the tournament for Wichita State. After opening Monday with a 74, the freshman from Trinity Academy rattled off four birdies and an eagle on 16 to put together a second round three-under 69. He backed up that showing with five more birdies on Tuesday, including a strong closing kick that featured three birdies over his final four holes.

The Shockers (302-291-291—884, +20) gained ground on the final day of play, carding the fifth-best score in the field to surge past Missouri State. Host Little Rock ultimately captured the team title, running away from the competition with an -18 team score and each of the top two individual finishers. Anton Albers came in at 13-under to secure the individual title.

Dawson Lewis (76-71-72—219, +3) bounced back from a rocky opening round to post three birdies and an eagle on Monday evening and five more birdies to conclude the tournament. His best stretch of play came midway through Tuesday's 18, as Lewis birdied holes three, four, and five as part of his final round 72.

It was an up-and-down showing for Brock Polhill (73-75-78—226, +10), who notched ten birdies and an eagle over the course of the invitational to finish in a tie for 57th.

Jack Glenn (79-76-74—229, +13) and Tate Herrenbruck (83-79-75—237, +21) improved steadily throughout the invitational to finish in a tie for 72nd and 81st, respectively. Herrenbruck shot two-under over the final ten holes on Tuesday to record his best round of the tournament.
