WICHITA, Kan. – Wichita State baseball's annual Alumni Weekend is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10, it was announced Friday, Sept. 11, by head coach
Eric Wedge.
The weekend is slated to begin with the annual alumni golf tournament Friday at Tallgrass Country Club.
New for this season: the golf tournament will be open to not only Shocker baseball alums, but also the general public.
Lunch and registration start at 11 a.m., prior to golfers teeing off with a noon shotgun start. Registration cost is $300 for an individual or $1,000 for a team (four golfers). All participants will receive a complimentary Shocker souvenir pack.
"For the first time, we are opening the Wichita State Baseball Alumni Golf Tournament to the public," Wedge said. "You will not want to miss out on the signature fundraiser for our baseball program. We are building a championship-caliber program, and this is your chance to join us on the beginning of our journey. It all starts here!"
Game one of the Black and Yellow Fall World Series will wrap up alumni weekend Saturday. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m. at Eck Stadium, Home of Tyler Field. This will be a great opportunity to get an early look at the 2021 Shocker baseball team.
