Wichita State coaches
Keitha Adams (women's basketball) and
Danny Bryan (men's tennis) join us remotely.
Adams updates fans
on three new Shockers, tells a few Don Haskins stories and discusses what she misses the most about pre-pandemic life (Hint: Social distancing is tough for Adams).
Bryan describes the abrupt end to the season, how his international athletes adapted and his pick for TV documentaries to watch.
Adams on Carla Budane, Rachel Johnson and Asia Strong:
"We're really fired up about the three players we've added. (Strong) is one of the top junior-college players in the country that we just worked really hard all year recruiting. Really athletic. Can score. Can shoot the ball. She's very capable of helping you on both ends of the floor."
Adams on former UTEP coach Don Haskins:
"I could talk about him for days. He never told the same story twice and he was just always brutally honest, blunt. As a mentor . . . He never told me what to do. But he always talked about things to where, when he left, I was always thinking."
Adams on life after the pandemic:
"I look forward to being back with our players. All these things are going to feel so great when we get back to it. Things have been taken away from us, in some ways."
Bryan on what he misses:
"I'm looking forward to a routine the most. I like the work. I like to help the guys get better, always having a goal. I had to get settled in on new goals."
