WICHITA, Kan. – The Wichita State men's tennis team will look to bounce back after a tough 3-4 loss at No. 16 Tennessee as they face Creighton at 8 a.m. and UMKC at 12 p.m., tomorrow at the Woodside Health and Tennis Club in Kansas City.

Opening Serve
- This will be the sixth of 11 consecutive road matches for the Shockers.
- The Shockers enter the second half of their road trip having won 4 of their last five matches.
- This will be the Shockers 29th meeting with the Bluejays and 22nd meeting with the Roos. Wichita State is a perfect 28-0 against Creighton and 20-1 against UMKC.
- WSU is coming off a close 3-4 loss to the No. 16 Tennessee Volunteers.

History in Fayetteville
- Wichita State made history at the Razorback Invite on January 25 when Elio Lago sealed a 4-3 victory over the Arkansas Razorbacks. This was only the third time since 1987 that WSU has defeated an SEC school.
- The last Shocker victory over an SEC team was in 2016 when they defeated the South Carolina Gamecocks 4-2, at the ITA Kickoff Weekend in Columbus, Ohio.

Seniors Stay Hot
- Marius Frosa, Murkel Dellien and Elio Lago have been killing it in singles to begin the season combining for an 14-7 record.
- Dellien has been solid at one going 5-3 for the Shockers with his most recent win coming over Roberts Grinvalds of Georgia State, 6-2, 7-5, while his doubles partner Frosa has gone 2-2 at four and 2-0 at five.
- Lago has seen most of his starts coming at three where has gone 4-2. He most recently defeated Luca Wiedenmann of No. 16 Tennessee, 7-6 (7-2), 6-4.

Freshman Firsts
- Benjamin Niv has made an immediate impact in doubles in his semester as a Shocker going 4-1 with sophomore Stefan Latinovic and 1-0 with fellow freshman Alex Richards.
- Yi Jui Lo and Richards have also found early success on the courts as a doubles pairing securing their first collegiate doubles win against the Omaha Mavericks.
- Richards also picked up his first collegiate singles win against Alvaro Quintana of Omaha, 6-1, 6-0, while Lo found his first collegiate singles win over David Nyman of Drake, 6-1, 7-5.

- Last week sophomore Nick Campbell earned men's tennis athlete of the week honors for the BIG EAST. He earned a three-set victory over No. 60 Kareem Allaf of Iowa, 6-4, 4-6, 10-4. Campbell also earned the same honor once last season before being named All-BIG EAST Second Team.

- Diego Giraldo is coming off a strong fall that saw him named as the WAC singles player of the month in October. He was one of two mid-major players to qualify for the round of 16 at the ITA Central Regional Championships and finished 12 spots above his initial seeding.
- Kansas City returns five players from last season and they also have the addition of former Shocker, Austin Williams.
