Shockers Tee Off Spring Season Saturday in Florida

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The Wichita State men's golf team ends a long winter layoff this weekend when it takes part in the 2020 Gators Invitational Presented by Vystar.

This is the Shockers' first appearance in the event, which began in 1978.

Action takes place at the Mark Bostick Golf Course on the University of Florida campus.

Five of the 15 entries in the team competition are ranked among the GolfStat's top-50, including host Florida (No. 31) and the tournament's two-time defending champion, Vanderbilt (No. 19).

First and second round take place Saturday, beginning with a 7 a.m. CST shotgun start. The final 18 holes slated for Sunday morning.

Zac Owens (So.) – Team-best stroke avg. (71.13); Three top-20 finishes this fall.
Brock Polhill (So.) – Competed in last three fall events; 74.5 stroke avg.
Grayson Wallace (So.) – First career top-10 finish Oct. 15 at Herb Wimberly.



UP NEXT:
The Shockers will have another four weeks to practice before returning to action Friday and Saturday, Mar. 13-14 at the GCU Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz.
